We started the hawk watch at Chestnut Hill on Friday with just two broad-winged hawks for the two hours Ayreslea Denny was there. Today we had just four hours of coverage with hawks only being seen in the first two hours of the count, 7 broad-winged (BW) hawks and 5 sharp-shinned (SS) hawks. A bit early for a good flight of BW's. Thursday and Friday this coming week look good for a hawk flight, with strong north west winds predicted on Thursday. Check out hawk migration at the web site of the Hawk Migration Association of North America at
http://www.hawkcount.org.   We had ten migrating monarch butterflys and two flyby ravens. The ravens looked they were chasing each other in play.
