[CT Birds] Broad Wing Migration in Goshen

The North Goshen Wildlife Management area was the location for the Goshen
Land Trust Hawk Watch today, Saturday from 10:30 - 3:00 p,m.

Chris Craig, president of the Goshen Land Trust delivered a short power
point program at the land trust office prior to the watch, Ann Orsillo, 

Joyce Mowrey, Vicky Lynch and others.


Osprey 1, Coopers Hawk 1, Bald Eagle 5 and 1390 Broad wing hawks.


Resident red tail hawks 2 and resident red shouldered hawk 1


The broad wings came over fast and filled the sky from 1:45- 2:45. At one
point, there were 7 observers counting 3 large kettles that appeared at the
same time.

One kettle contained over 400 broad wings.
