[CT Birds] Weather patterns:an example

As an example of what a weather pattern can do i remember when i was in the Air Force stationed near Panama City,
Florida that i never saw a Scarlet Tanager in the spring until May 5th 1968 when i found 14! Seems the gulf coast
migrants continue inland a ways before putting down unless they encounter adverse weather conditions. Hard to
remember details from so long ago but it certainly appears that some weather pattern grounded them.
