[CT Birds] Stratford Point - Vesper Sparrow and Brant

This afternoon during the Great Stratford Bird Festival at Stratford Point a VESPER SPARROW perched on the large pile of boulders in the parking area. It was loosely associated with a group of song sparrows & all birds were seen ducking in and out of the tall grass surrounding the boulders and occassionally popping into view on the rocks until the nearby raptor show with free-flying birds of prey made them all disappear.

Also, three ATLANTIC BRANT in the intertidal zone that had been present for much of today were briefly joined by a flock of another 33 Brant, before taking off and flying west along the shore. These were the first of the season for Stratford Point.
