This afternoon, shortly after 3 PM, a Royal Tern flew by Stratford Point
going Northeast. It flew in front of the Milford Point sandars and then
turned back westward and went up the Housatonic River. This was most
likely the same large tern which Frank Mantlik spotted on Sunday and
suspected that it was a Royal. Also present were at least 16 Forster's
Tern and 8 Laughing Gull. About 15 scoters flew by, too far offshore to
identify as to species.

Up in the Huntington section of Shelton this morning, there were 2 American
Woodcock which flushed from the edge of a shrub bordered wetland, as well
as at least 1 Rusty Blackbird back in the wooded swamp. A Winter Wren also
put in an appearance. This was in the open space area which is reached
via Lane Street.
