Based upon the degree and thickness of the dark markings on the Stratford
Snowy Owl, I would say that the Stratford bird and the recent Snowy Owl in
East Haven were 2 different individuals.
The Stratford bird looks like a male, with very little in the way of dark
marks on the front of it's cap and a relatively sparsely marked body and
tail. The East Haven bird was darker on the cap and had solid and wide
barring on the body and tail as well. Thanks to Keith Mueller and John
Schwarz for providing links to their photos of the East Haven bird and to
Scott, Twan and Frank for photos of the Stratford bird.
