 From Steve Broker (Cheshire):
12/09/11 - East Haven, Ora Avenue/Proto Drive and Tweed-New Haven
Airport -- YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT observed at close range from Ora
Avenue/Proto Drive, 9:30 A.M.-9:40 A.M.. The chat initially popped
up within 15 feet of the locked chain-link fence that "blocks" Ora/
Proto's far end. It moved along this edge (airport runway side of
the road) eastward 125 yards to the fire hydrant and "Sosensky
feeding station." On occasion, the bird fed on multiflora rose
berries. We will try to reconnect with the chat on tomorrow's New
Haven Bird Club walk, which begins at 8:00 A.M.. (See COA calendar

Also observed from far end of Ora: American Kestrel (ad m) landing
on airport runways and perching on runway sign B2-20. Additional
notable birds (9:15-12 Noon): Fox Sparrow (1-2), White-crowned
Sparrow (1-2), Marsh Wren (1), Ruby-crowned Kinglet (1). A healthy-
looking Red Fox was seen, as well.
