Try contacting the local fire department.  It likely would be equipped to do ice rescues.I've had success with fire departments in Greenwich and Stamford where theyconsider swan rescues good practice sessions. Meredith SampsonOld Greenwich

I just had a call from Phil Asprelli.  He has a mute swan that appears to be trapped in the ice at North Farms Reservoir in Wallingford.  I had no idea what to suggest to him, so I am putting this out to the list in case anyone with an actual idea cares to take action.
