from Bill Asteraides, Tom Robbens, Phil Rusch, and Glenn Williams:
1/14 - LI Sound - New London to Orient Point ferry 7:15am round trip - 7 adult BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE (4 CT, 3 NY) 18 RAZORBILL (7 CT, 11 NY), large alcid sp. 10 (4 CT,6 NY), PEREGRINE FALCON (New London). We also had a probable POMERINE JAEGER near Orient Point. Bill's pictures should confirm. Another mystery bird at great distance - photographed in CT waters by Bill may also be a Pomarine Jaeger.
Due to the strong west winds, the captain took a different route that was more south and east than normal and resulted in much less time in CT waters for the outgoing leg of the trip.
