Interesting note on ducks in CT: heard on the news today that DEEP said that wintercounts of ducks were very low, and they didn't know why.I've noticed much fewer ducks along the coast and on Greenwich reservoirs.Possibly due to warmer fall, early winter and lakes, ponds not freezing further northof CT? A check of open water in Wallingford before the predicted big freeze produced high counts of 22 Ruddies at Pistapaug Pond, 110 Ring-necks at Mackenzie Reservoir and 56 American Coot at North Farms Reservoir.
