Paul, anyone,Not being familiar with Bloomfield, is there a town center/green there? If so, that would be a moreappropriate site for a memorial. Meredith SampsonOld Greenwich

Here is an article in today's Hartford Courant about a proposed memorial at
a park which holds many nesting grassland birds. The park is currently home
to three pairs of Eastern Meadowlark, 30+ pairs of Bobolink and Savannah
Sparrows. There are also Brown Thrasher along the brushy edge habitat.

If you are involved with bird conservation or an active birder, this is the
perfect opportunity for you to voice your concerns regarding grassland bird
conservation. Grassland habitat and birds are highly endangered in this
state, please make an effort to voice your concerns.

Please send a letter of opposition and your concern for the grassland bird
protection here to the Bloomfield Town Council;
