This morning from the Newberry Road section at least 8 Northern Pintails and 4 Green Winged Teal among other waterfowl. Also a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker. On another topic, while on Vibert Road had a conversation with the landowner who owns the field where the Bobolinks used to nest. Used to because corn is now being grown where there used to be a hayfield. He mentioned there is not much money in hay. Of course can't blame him for trying to make a living, but as things stand unless there is some incentive to preserving bird habitat this is the way things will be. The Nature Conservancy and the land trusts can only do so much.
