Marty,
Yes. Your photos are of the male Eurasian Wigeon.  Though it's obscured, one can 
see the reddish head, as well as the gray sides.

Subject: [CT Birds] Possible Eurasian Widgeon

After reading a few posts here about the Eurasian Widgeon at Southport Beach, I 
think I might have taken a picture of it Monday when I was there around 1:30 pm 
while trying to get pics of the American Widgeon.

Did not get a good pic of the Eurasian Widgeon but it looks like what I see in 
Sibley - wondering if anyone can see if I did get pics of the Eurasian Widgeon 
by checking out these pics on Flickr
