On Tuesday a controlled burn of the grasslands of Stratford Point was executed to perfection. You can read all of the details, see two lengthy videos of the process and huge fire, and view many photos here: http://ctaudubon.blogspot.com/2012/03/controlled-burn-at-stratford-point.html

It was a great effort by many parties, especially CT DEEP, thanks to all involved. Please check it out, including the videos - it was unbelievable to witness in person but the photos and videos really give you a great sense of being there for it. This is a huge step in our management plans for and restoration of Stratford Point. If you come to the bird walk next week, March 8 at 4PM, you can walk on the scorched earth yourself.
