There are three apparent adult TUNDRA SWANS at the Beaver Dam Marsh,
Natchaug State Forest. Heavy all-black bills with no sign of yellow/orange
except a thin line on the lower mandible on at least two of them.
About 5 years ago there were 4 at the same location for a week or two. This
is the first time since that the ice has been out this early. There is
still a skim in the coves.
 8 Common Goldeneye
 28 Ring-necked Ducks
 4 Buffleheads
 8 (or more) Hooded Mergansers
 C. Geese
 Black Ducks
Oddly enough, no Common Mergansers. There are a dozen or so on Coventry
Lake, though.
