Hi John

Many of the hawks you are seeing might not all be resident birds. These extra 
birds will tend to migrate back to where they come from. Red tails, Red 
shoulders and some goshawks are the first to move. They usually move in March - 
and some pass through CT from winter quarters south of us. 

April is the month that many of the other species push through our State as 
well. By the end of April, most all the resident birds will be the only ones you 
will then see.
