 From Scott Kruitbosch:
03/08/12 - Stratford, Stratford Point -- 1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL first spotted by Tina Green during our monthly bird walk, seen by many. Around 4,000 gulls, many plankton feeding, joined by American Black Duck, American Wigeon, Greater and Lesser Scaup, and Bufflehead also feasting on the plankton. Hundreds more ducks in the mouth of the Housatonic along with 475 Brant.
Stratford, McKinney Refuge -- 1 AMERICAN WOODCOCK.
03/11/12 - Stratford, Stratford Point -- 4 NORTHERN SHOVELER between the point and breakwater mixed in with hundreds of other ducks. They and the group they were in were resting/napping, but could they have possibly been enjoying plankton at some point too? Hmm!
