from Glenn Williams:
3/12 - Old Lyme, Griswold Point -- 2 AMERICAN PIPTS
Also three Piping Plover, an Osprey, and a freshly dead or well-winter preserved Painted Turtle on a sand bar near a small salt pond on the land side of the dunes east of the point. I had to pick it up to realize it was dead. I assume it washed down the Connecticut River from parts unknown. Since it looked so alive, I wonder if it didn't survive the journey until the end.
