Just four gulls in the West end parking lot, and none on the beach at Meigs Pt. Not a single Ring-billed Gull anywhere. Highlights- first of the season Great Egret (with tail plumes) in the Renovation marsh area. 26 Purple Sandpipers on one rock, off the end of the Meigs Point breakwater. Sanderlings, Dunlin and Ruddy Turnstones on the breakwater. 1 Greater Yellowlegs in the Boulder pond marsh, and 1 female Northern Harrier hunting the marsh. One Horned Grebe in breeding plumage, and two others moulting. Many Loons of both species, Surf Scoters flying by the Point, and 18 Horned Larks with 7 Killdeer in the West end grass fields.
