from Beth, Eliza, and Glenn Williams:
3/19 - Groton, Haley Farm -- 11 AMERICAN WOODCOCKS
We only covered a out half of the good woodcock habitat before it got too dark and displaying stopped. Also seen: three Hermit Thrushes (winter lingerers or early migrants?), two bats that interacted in an aerial skirmish with hissing noises, and a Song Sparrow doing some sort of evening song reminiscent of Ovenbird. Never heard that before. Does anyone know if it is something they do or was it just one odd bird?
