Timothy Thompson of Norwich, CT found and photographed an American
Golden-Plover at Bluff Point State Park in Groton on April 5th. Here
is his report:

"The bird was photographed at Bluff Point Coastal Reserve in Groton,
CT on Thursday April 5. It was with two Piping Plovers. The three of
them are approximately 2/3 thirds down (due west) the outer beach. If
you go to Bluff Point, it's about a 45 minute walk (a solid mile) out
to the point and approx 8 minutes with a mountain bike. Also,
consider another fifteen minutes walk down beach. When you first
arrive, take the lower road (to the right) and walk out till you see
the spit. Its a "mealy" walk at first on the little rocks, then
improves as you travel down the beach."
