[CT Birds] Grasshopper Sparrow, Suffield WMA

5/9/12  Suffield WMA, Babbs Rd, Hartford Audubon mid week walk, Mike 
Stanley, leader.
1 GRASSHOPPER SPARROW  located in same spot as during last year's walk on 
this DEEP WMA managed for grassland bird species.  Also 1 AMERICAN KESTREL, 
and 2 Field sparrows along with 40 other species on a misty, overcast 
morning.  Other highlights were several Prairie Warblers, Pileated 
woodpecker, Kingbirds, and a small Great Blue Heron rookery with sitting 
birds.

Later, in Clay Creek Rd. subdivision of mcmansions off Route 75 north of 
Suffield center in a managed subdivision grassland, a dozen BOBOLINK, mostly 
males interacting and establishing territory and a couple females.
