Hmmmm....

Black-crowned Night-Heron is what is listed on March 2011 COA list for CT Birds, The Atlas of Breeding Birds of CT, The Birder's Handbook by Ehrlich, Dobkin and Wheye,  Sibley Guide to Birds, Stokes Field Guide to Birds, Crossley ID Guide, and the January 2005 CT Warbler. I was too lazy to go fetch the Peterson's and Nat Geo guides. I was curious if they would all be in agreement.

According to the AOU the correct version is Black crowned Night Heron. Don't ask me why though!
