[CT Birds] Common Mergansers Goshen

Late yesterday, a pair of Common Mergansers flying around Woodridge Lake  
was unusual for this time of year.  The below-normal level and lack of  usual 
boating traffic makes the lake more attractive to waterfowl but there  
aren't as many ducks hanging around as I would have thought.  Other than  the 
usual-suspect Killdeer and Spotted Sandpipers, no shorebirds,  either.
