[CT Birds] Sam Wheeler Reed Park Still at Risk

Unfortunately, there is now another threat to the park. The Seabury
Retirement Community wants to do a land swap with the town and take about 8
acres of Reed Park as part of the development of a hospice building.
Obviously the land they wish to swap has no value to the birds. They have
already clear cut some land on the road that backs up to the
grassland...land which they do own. Seabury figures prominently in the
town, unlike the war memorial folks.

I am SO tired of fighting for this but I won't stop. Since it is designated
as a town park, this grassland has no protection. Saw two meadowlarks and
four bobolinks today at the park...probably dozens more bobos down in the
high grass.
