[CT Birds] OT: lightening bugs!

I know, I know, it is totally off-topic, but it is interesting.  Last year, photinus, sp., showed up a solid 2 weeks before the 1st week of June (ie, the time I expect fire flies). 
 
I noted that they showed appoximately on time, this year.

A while back I think Lisa from Stafford Springs inquired about lightening bugs. I can report that there are thousands in Mansfield Center tonight! The woods surrounding my house are lit up with them!
