[CT Birds] nesting Cliff Swallows

6/29 Thomaston, Black Rock dam off Rt. 109 - c 10 CLIFF SWALLOWS, adults and fledglings at nest site under catwalk of dam's tower; the paved walkway on the top of the dam allows views of the birds flying below eye level and sometimes perching on the wire guardrail along the walkway.

A nice mix of breeding species at Black Rock Lake included Red-breasted Nuthatch, Hermit Thrush and Black-throated Green Warbler
