[CT Birds] Birds are moving

The summer doldrums are over. Regional and local reports over the past
few days indicate that birds are moving in multiple directions. First,
the southbound shorebird season has already gotten off to an exciting
start with Ruffs in NY and NJ, plus a Red-necked Stint all the way out
in Kansas (where former CT birder EJ Raynor is currently residing).
Second, southern terns are wandering north as they sometimes do in
summer (subadult birds, failed breeders, or post-breeders), as
evidenced by the Gull-billed Terns at Milford Pt yesterday and
multiple regional reports of Sandwich and Royal Terns.

What better way to spend a hot summer day than shorebirding at the beach??
