I know there are rehabbers around the state that will take in turtles. This list is from 2011, but I'm sure any of the contacts could get people pointed in the right direction: http://www.northeastparc.org/products/pdfs/NEPARC_BoxTurtle_RehabInfo.pdf

On the way to Great Pond this afternoon in East Granby happened upon 2 Painted Turtles that got hit. One was completely run over and the other had a cracked shell. They were mere yards from one another. A woman motorist also stopped to see if she could aid them. My thought is, if there was a large rock in the road I am sure motorists would try to avoid it. So I just hope they were not run over on purpose. _______________________________________________This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) for the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut. For subscription information visit http://lists.ctbirding.org/mailman/listinfo/ctbirds_lists.ctbirding.org
