8/25 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center (brief stop)
At 9AM a parent osprey dropped a fish onto the nest for 2 juveniles. Lots
of fighting over the fish, with both juveniles digging their talons into
the fish and having a tug of war. After about 7 minutes of fighting, 1
juvenile gave up and flew to the perch, leaving the fish with the juvenile
on the nest.

8/29 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 10AM-1PM
Sunny, high tide, 70-78F
At 10AM, 1 juvenile osprey is on the nest. 11:30 2nd juvenile flew onto
the nest (preening & calling), pushing the first juvenile to the perch.
Both are constantly calling.
11:40, both juveniles flew around the marsh, 1 juvenile returns to nest,
lots of wing flapping to prevent 2nd juvenile from landing on nest, so 2nd
one lands on perch.
12noon- 1 adult osprey is flying & hovering over marsh, as both juveniles
call. Then adult flew off.
12:10-1 juvenile flying through marsh, dipping near water, but not catching
anything...it seemed to be practicing its moves. 2 other ospreys were
flying high over marsh .
12:30PM- 3 willets flew through marsh.
Also seen were 2 Female ruby throated hummingbirds at the feeder, 1 Great
egret fly by, 1 juvenile yellow crowned night heron fly by, 9 mute swans,
14 Cormorants (I think D.C.) far out on marsh on a cement type structure,
about 40 Red Winged blackbirds working through marsh.
