9/1 After a 1/2-hour wait, a juvenile SORA emerged from the edge of the
Phragmites at Access Rd. Pond. Shortly thereafter a juvenile Virginia Rail also
appeared next to it. In addition there were: 6 Green-winged Teal, 1 Blue-winged
Teal, 1 Wood Duck, 1 Gadwall, 1 Am. Black Duck, 10 Mallards, 58 Canada Geese, 1
Great Egret.

At nearby Sikorsky Airport shortly thereafter, a flock of 18 BOAT-TAILED
GRACKLES flew over the airport buildings, heading generally SE, presumably to a
roost site.
