[CT Birds] Chestnut Hill (Litchfield, CT) Hawk Watch, 10 Sept 2012 tally

Numbers of broad-winged (BW) hawks increased at the Chestnut Hill Hawk Watch in Litchfield, CT today (Monday. 10 Sept 2012). No big "kettles" of BW hawks. With a strong northwest winds and moderate cloud cover the BW's traveled fast and high by the hawk watch on set wings, getting lift off the ridge. Two black vultures flew northeast of the hawk watch in the 1-2 hour (Standard Time). Monarch butterflies were down with just 10 recorded today. The tally for 10 Sept 2012, Monday, at Chestnut Hill is below.
