9/17/12 - Sterling yard - 51 species - good, brief views of CONNECTICUT WARBLER strutting around in shrubs (new for yard #168), PURPLE FINCH (2), RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, SWAINSON'S THRUSH (one heard in flight before daybreak and one eating highbush cranberries), PILEATED WOODPECKER (rare in yard only fourth or fifth record), SCARLET TANAGER (several including one on sunflower feeder), INDIGO BUNTING. COMMON NIGHTHAWK, adult BALD EAGLE, BROAD- WINGED HAWK (2).
