[CT Birds] Milford & Stratford birds 9/24

9/24  Milford & Stratford - I did a fair amount of birding at numerous sites in 
both towns today, tallying 89 species including 12 species of warblers.  Eastern 
Phoebes, Northern Flickers, Red-eyed Vireos, and Yellow-rumped Warblers were 
numerous and widespread.  Hawks and shorebirds were sparse in number and 
-Milford Point:  1 Brant, 2 Blue-winged Teal, 1 Green-winged Teal, 2 Common 
Loon,  3 Salt Marsh Sparrows.
-Court St. boatramp and Third Ave. woods:  Pied-billed Grebe, E. Wood-pewee, 
Swainson's Thrush, Indigo Bunting.

-McKinney Refuge (Long Beach Blvd):  3 Scarlet Tanagers, Lincoln's Sparrow, 
Purple Finch, 3 White-throated Sparrows, 1 Dark-eyed Junco.
-Sikorsky Airport:  17 American Pipits (1 flock by dirt mound in lot).
-Town Greenway (Beacon Point Rd.) - Lincoln's Sparrow.
-Community Garden (Connors Lane):  16 Bobolinks.
