This afternoon another walk around the Wallingford Community Gardens
at Vietnam Veteran's Park revealed still rather low sparrow numbers,
but a LINCOLN'S SPARROW among them. They're great birds. Also a couple
butterflies I'll have to ID later via photo.
There was a Say's Phoebe reported at Sandy Hook, NJ today. It's prime
time to find one of those, and since one hasn't been seen in CT in
something like 100 years (yes, one hundred years), if you find one the
entire CT birding community will be chasing it. It's just as overdue
as the state's first Townsend's Warbler...pretty amazing!
