9/28 I was out along the sw CT shoreline before, during, and after the deluge
today. Nothing rare, but here's highlights:

Russian Beach, Stratford 0800-0815 (no rain, E wind 20-25) - 2 White-winged
Scoters, 6 scoter, sp., 90 DC Cormorants migrating west, 1 Cooper's Hawk.

Stratford Point 0820-0830 - 80 DC Cormorants, 12 Green-winged Teal, 5 Black
Ducks, all migrating west.

Milford, Silver Sands S.P., w/ Penny Solum, A.J. & Sue Hand, 0900-1030 - 2 No.
Harriers, 1 Broad-winged Hawk, 2 Common Ravens, & 6 Am. Crows cavorting over old
landfill. Wind-driven rain ended our walk.

Heavy rains, with some thunder & lightning 1200-1330 caused widespread
flash-flooding, flooded streets and cars.

Post-deluge:
Stratford, Stratford Marina (private property) 1400-1415 - 26 Yellow-crowned &
10 Black-crowned Night-Herons, 92 Greater Yellowlegs, 3 Lesser Yellowlegs, 8
Short-billed Dowitchers.

Sikorsky Airport main entrance 1420-1435 (huge rain puddle at east end of
runways) - 8 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs, 12 Killdeer.

Short Beach Park (walked in as entrance road was flooded) 1445-1510 - 27
Laughing Gulls & 6 Black-bellied Plovers on beach, 1 Pectoral & 4 Semipalmated
Sandpipers, 1 Semipalmated Plover at rain puddle on golf course.
