100% clouds, winds 2-15 mph and lots of Osprey as well as morning Sharpies (followed by afternoon Coopers Hawks). The Coops and Osprey were simply not in much of a hurry on this stalling front. Nor were the Blue Jays, who repeatedly jumped from the Oaks, gathered high up just west of the Harbor, and scooted back into the woods.
146 Hawks total.
1 AM WOODCOCK flying NW directly across the length of the Park. 1 RT HUMMINGBIRD in the nearby honeysuckle behind the feeders. Also over there, 3 WT Sparrows and 1 E Towhee.
Also 50+ Cedar Waxwing, 70+ Am Goldfinch, 30+ Tree Swallow, 180+ Blue Jay, 5+ Purple Finch, 5 Palm Warbler, 1 YR Warbler.
Many Monarchs still (banding underway).
Thanks to Paul Desjardins, Tom Hanrahan and others for the coverage.
