10/1 New Haven, Lighthouse Point hawk watch - 305 diurnal raptors, a surprisingly good count on strong W to SW winds. Wind conditions kept birds mercifully low. Other migrants included 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird;  40 Chimney Swifts; 200 Blue Jays; 200 Cedar Waxwings, 1 DICKCISSEL, c 20 PINE SISKINS, c 200 American Goldfinch; c 30 PURPLE FINCHES. Several hundred more unidentified finches, including House Finches, under difficult conditions with high winds, clear skies and sun glare. Three Common Ravens spend some time cavorting around the park.
Thanks to Paul Desjardins, Sara Zagorski, Bill Banks, Lynn James and others for eyes on the skies.
