10/2/12 - Litchfield - 11-12 AM - COMMON GALLINULE continues in the NE corner of Little Pond. Also present were 2 SORAs (seen along the boardwalk), 1 VIRGINIA RAIL calling in the distance, and 3 MARSH WRENs. Also 2 flyover PINE SISKINS.
Simsbury - Nod Road at model plane field - 9-10 AM - 1 VESPER SPARROW, 1 CHIPPING SPARROW, 11 AMERICAN PIPITs
Rocky Hill Meadows - 1-2 PM in the Rain - 400 TREE SWALLOWs - flying low over the fields.

The Gallinule appeared to be an immature bird based on pale coloration in face and head. Have others seen this too?
Tree Swallows were pretty amazing to watch at Rocky Hill Meadows apparently catching insects flying low over the fields. Only shorebirds I could find were 7 Killdeer.
