[CT Birds] Guilford and Madison birds

10/7/12 Guilford, Brush Dump. 1 Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 1 Pileated Woodpecker, 1 Red-shouldered Hawk, 1 Osprey, 1 Black-throated Green Warbler, 1 Black-throated Blue Warbler, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, both Kinglets, 1 each Red-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos, 2 E. Towhee. Many Palm amd Yellow-rumped Warblers. No uncommon sparrows.

10/7/12 Madison, Bauer Park/Community Gardens. 1 Clay-colored Sparrow, 1 Vesper Sparrow, 1 Lincoln's Sparrow, 1 Field Sparrow, 1 Bobolink (still in partial molt with black vent and undertail), 3 Indigo Bunting, 2 Purple Finch, 1 E.Bluebird, 1 Cooper's Hawk hunting. Saw an adult Red-tailed Hawk swoop down and take probably a Titmouse on the ground and then perch on a low shed roof to pluck and eat the bird (legs included).
