10/10  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center  10AM-1PM
high tide receding, overcast, drizzle, then clearing,  58F-63F
Marsh- As seen through windows -
the Belted Kingfisher seems to have adopted the Osprey nest-it hovered over
the water, dove down and came up to the nest.  2 juvenile Yellow crowned
night herons,  3 Great Egrets, 2 Snowy Egrets, a Flock of about 20 peeps
landed on a sand bar as the tide receded-there appeared to be 10 Black
bellied plovers in winter plumage, with 2 tiny "peeps" among them, 25 Brant
flew over,
3 D.C. cormorants, 4 Black ducks and 1 pair of mallards.  On the grounds
were a Carolina wren singing, a mockingbird, a Downy woodpecker, mourning
doves, a song sparrow, American Robins, 2 Eastern Phoebes,  and house
