10/16 While conducting International Shorebird Surveys this morning
(approx. 0845 hrs) at Durham Skating Pond, Route 68 in Durham, I had a nice
look at a very cooperative LECONTE'S SPARROW. The bird was in the cattail
and rush stands on the south side of the berm that separates the skating
pond and the rest of the marsh, about halfway down the berm from the
parking lot. Also present were numerous Swamp Sparrows, Song Sparrows,
Savannah Sparrows, an Immature White-crowned Sparrow and a Lincoln's
Sparrow.
