10/17 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center  9:30AM-1PM
sunny, 48-56 , mid tide rising.
VERY birdy today!
A walk along the private road and on the boardwalk and up to the Francis
St. spit-
Yellow rumped warblers everywhere!
White throated sparrows, song sparrows, swamp sparrow, mockingbird, Ruby
crowned and Golden Crowned kinglets, Goldfinches, Red breasted nuthatch, 1
Gray cheeked thrush, 1 Palm warbler,
and in the grasses at beginning of Francis St. spit (next to water) were 8
Sharp tailed sparrows- I think a Nelson's & several Salt marsh.
>From the windows in building facing marsh: On marsh, 2 American black
ducks, about 60 Brant, Canada Geese, 4 Mute swans, 1 Northern Harrier, 1
Great Blue heron fly over. and the Belted Kingfisher seems to have adopted
the Osprey platform.  On grounds at back feeders-1 Immature White crowned
sparrow,  Many House finches (several with conjunctivitis evident or
sitting puffed up and sneezing, or sitting puffed up with beak open),
Goldfinches,  2 Purple finches, about 24 Pine siskins,  Titmice,
Chickadees, 4 Cardinals (2 M, 2 F), Mockingbird, Starlings, American
Robins, mourning doves.
