[CT Birds] COA Sparrow Workshop

10/20/12-Wilton, Allen's Meadow-to echo Sara's report: sincere thanks to Joe
Bear and Luke Tiller for leading the workshop and for introducing the
participants to the fine birding location that Allen's Meadow is, and for
giving us all a greater appreciation of sparrows.  The highlights included 1
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW (seen well by all), 4+ VESPER SPARROWS, and many
White-crowned and Savannah Sparrows (9 sparrow species in total).  Also,
Broad-winged Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker, Winter Wren, Eastern Bluebird,
Hermit Thrush, EASTERN MEADOWLARK, bunting, species (presumed Indigo),
Purple Finch, and Pine Siskin.  About 30 participants.  About 40 species in
