10/24/12 Sandy/Morse Point - Did my final International shorebird survey for the fall this morning. No shorebirds but plenty of other birds. Highlights include: 1 snow goose (flying over, it was noticeably smaller than the Canada geese it traveled with), ~50 American pipets, 3 snow buntings, ~ 20 pine siskens, and many ammodramus sparrows (mix of saltmarsh and nelson's). There is one really lucky pigeon in West Haven this morning, who managed to out fly a Peregrine Falcon.
