      Habitat Oases for
      Migrating Songbirds

      The goal of the Habitat
      Oasis program is to identify, improve, and conserve stop-over habitat for
      migrating songbirds along the Atlantic flyway, focusing on urban areas and
      other landscapes where there is limited quality habitat. The surveys are
      performed in collaboration with Audubon chapters, botanical gardens, and
      state and municipal parks departments. They engage volunteer birdwatchers
      in migratory songbird surveys of urban green spaces and rural forest
      remnants to determine the characteristics of high-quality stop-over
      habitat  and which species of plants are most beneficial as food sources
      for migrating songbirds. Come and discover how the survey results are
      being used to improve stop-over habitat for songbirds on public and
      private lands.
