11/16 Ellington: A juve nile coopers hawk made a pass through my feeders this afternoon, scattering birds

with two striking windows (both survived).  The coop landed in a tree and then flew down to the ground

under a thistle feeder and  walked around a rose bush  looking for something to catch.  It then walked

about 40 feet across the grass and under a dwarf Alberta spr uce, all the while loo king to spook something

out of the tree, and then walked another 40 feet or so to a bench under a hemlock tree.

It was weird seeing it walking around so much.
