12/2/2012 Mystic, Ender’s Island, 8:30am-10:30am – 1 RAZORBILL close to shore SW side.  7 COMMON EIDER, 6 OLDSQUAW, 8 SURF SCOTER, 6 RED-THROATED LOON, 11 COMMON LOON, 23 HORNED GREBE, 10 RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 35 SNOW BUNTING, 9 BRANT, 2 AMERICAN BLACK DUCK, 1 BUFFLEHEAD, 4 Seals incl 1 on a rock..  Lord’s Point 11:00 am – 1 WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, 30 RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 2 RED-THROATED LOON, looked for purple sandpipers but found 2 SANDERLINGS on Rock Island instead.  The road to Ender’s island has been repaved to repair the damage from storm Sandy.

12/2/2012 Stonington Pt 12:00 - 1:15pm, 1 RED-NECKED GREBE fairly close to shore and showing some reddish neck plumage (a life bird for me so JFJ), 4 HORNED GREBES extremely close to shore plus a few further out, 1 GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, 3 BRANT, many RB MERGS and SURF SCOTERS, a few RT and COMMON LOONS, 1 seal.
