And I saw the WHITE IBIS there at dusk (5 pm), along with 5 GREAT EGRETS and 1
Great Blue Heron.
I'm almost certain that WHITE IBIS had been recorded on the New London CBC (Dec.
1979). Bob Dewire (Compiler) should be able to confirm this.
I also saw these tonight, for Stratford-Milford Count Week (at least):
BOAT-TAILED GRACKLE (20), BC Night-Heron, Common Raven.

Subject: [CT Birds] White Ibis continues in Stratford
12/19/2012 Stratford Warehouse Pond on Long Beach Blvd. I stopped by around 4:15
p.m. and the Immature White Ibis was roosting on the fallen tree hanging into
the water of the pond with 2 Great Egrets. This is now count period for the
Stratford/Milford CBC, so it's officially on a New England Christmas Count,
probably for the first time in count history.
Life is short. Bird often.
This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) for
the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut.
