Hammonasset Beach State Park, Madison
Help clear Hammonasset Beach State Park of invasive plants!
Areas of Hammonasset Beach State Park are being taken over by invasive plants! Asian honeysuckle and others are crowding out the native trees and reducing valuable food sources for birds and other wildlife.
Please consider helping with this Meigs Point Nature Center event, joined by the Friends of Hammonasset and the Menunkatuck Audubon Society, on Sunday, January 6 from 10 a.m. – Noon (meet at 9:45 a.m.) to “Round-Up” these invasive plants, and create bird habitat.
• BYO: Loppers or Pruning Saws, and Gloves!
Reception to follow, with hot food, drinks, and light music at the Meigs Point Nature Center
For questions, please email: RangerMPNC at gmail.com<mailto:RangerMPNC at gmail.com> or call Ranger Russ at the Nature Center 203-245-8743.
